  • Report to Business Unit Head, work as part of the Management team to share ideas and contribute to continuous improvement of the site in the performance of Quality, Cost and Delivery.
  • Lead the Manufacturing Department functions, define and manage KPIs for Industrial Engineering and Production sections (SMT, auto insertion, manual insertion, wave soldering, final assembly), manage the Manufacturing Department performance within internal budget and output targets to meet customer requirements and standards in terms of Quality and on time delivery in full, including to ensure the target productivity level is achieved on a daily basis.
  • Plan and coordinate production activities to ensure continuous supply of materials and WIP across Production sections.
  • Communicate closely with Materials Warehouse to ensure kitting is ahead of production schedule.
  • Communicate closely with Production Materials Planning and Program Management teams to ensure production completed earlier than shipment plan.
  • Responsible for the assembly of products into finished goods within KPI target for production efficiency and cost, emphasizing on Do Things Right the First Time.
  • Responsible for clearing production backlog aged over 2 weeks.
  • Implement and manage continuous improvement of manufacturing efficiency and labour hour reduction through deployment of Industrial 4.0 manufacturing principals.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability or Automation proposals to Customers during NPI stage.
  • Ensure reasonable process first pass yield of new products prior to mass production approval.
  • Review production floor and equipment capacity and plan expansion reasonably and timely.
  • Responsible for developing an enthusiastic, accountable, motivated, stable and flexible team by building working relationships among Manufacturing Department and with other Departments.
  • Ensure that sustainability requirements (Health, Safety and Environmental) are adhered to.
  • Ensure all Facility compliances are valid by manging renewal of licences before expiry.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment are carried out as scheduled.
  • Plan annual budget for headcounts and expenses. Control to ensure department spending is within budget and according to sales level.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements

  • Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering related principals
  • Prior position as Manufacturing Department head
  • At least 10-year managerial experience in Manufacturing related field, preferably electronics box build manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding in industrial engineering and lean manufacturing
  • Knowledge in production process automation
  • Written and verbal communication in Chinese
  • Stationed in Muar of Malaysia
