Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior / Technical Manager (Audio) to provide strong technical leadership in audio product development, acoustic performance, audio electronics, and system-level validation. This role focuses on technical ownership rather than project administration, ensuring audio solutions meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and customer requirements.
The role serves as a key technical authority across acoustic, electrical, firmware/DSP, mechanical, QA, and manufacturing teams, supporting products from concept definition and design review through validation, NPI, production transfer, and field issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead audio system architecture, technical feasibility assessment, design reviews, and solution selection for headset, speakerphone, communication, and related audio products.
- Define and review acoustic, electro-acoustic, audio electronics, microphone, speaker, amplifier, codec, USB/Bluetooth audio, and DSP-related technical requirements.
- Guide engineers in acoustic tuning, signal integrity, noise optimization, audio performance debugging, and root-cause analysis for complex technical issues.
- Review and approve audio test plans, measurement methods, validation results, and technical reports, including frequency response, THD+N, SNR, sensitivity, SPL, and voice quality metrics.
- Work closely with hardware, firmware, mechanical, QA, NPI, and manufacturing teams to resolve design, integration, reliability, and production quality issues.
- Support component selection and supplier technical evaluation for microphones, speakers, codecs, amplifiers, audio ICs, DSP devices, and related acoustic materials.
- Drive engineering best practices for audio design, validation, documentation, design-for-manufacturing, and design-for-quality.
- Provide technical mentoring to engineers and help build stronger team capability in audio design, measurement, troubleshooting, and productization.
- Support customer technical discussions, issue analysis, sample review, and technical presentations where required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Acoustic Engineering, Communications Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in audio product development, acoustic engineering, audio electronics, DSP, or related technical fields; more experienced candidates may be considered for senior-level responsibility.
- Strong technical knowledge of audio system design, acoustic measurement, audio signal chain, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, codecs, and product-level audio integration.
- Practical experience with audio validation tools and measurement methods, such as Audio Precision/APx, sound level meters, acoustic fixtures, chambers, and objective audio performance testing.
- Experience in technical problem solving across hardware, firmware/software, mechanical, acoustic, QA, and manufacturing interfaces.
- Good understanding of product development from concept design to engineering validation, NPI, mass production, and post-launch technical support.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and technical leadership skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional and cross-location teams, including Hong Kong, Shenzhen, suppliers, ODM/OEM partners, or overseas customers.
- More experience will be considered as Senior Technical Manager.
