Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, actively managing the supplier base.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and improve profitability.
  • Continuously identify alternative sources for materials, components, and services, ensuring a diversified supply chain.
  • Conduct thorough market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize sourcing requirements for new product development projects.
  • Manage the bidding process between suppliers, evaluating proposals and selecting the most suitable vendors.
  • Work closely with the forecasting team to plan and forecast material requirements based on demand projections.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, monitoring and expediting orders as necessary.
  • Implement effective inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete materials.
  • Monitor supplier performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement improvement initiatives when necessary.
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations, certifications, and industry standards related to sourcing and material planning.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in sourcing and material planning, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable terms from suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain concepts, inventory management, and production planning.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP and Oracle are preferred) and other supply chain software tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
